The Peoria Chiefs and Kane County Cougars played an exciting game.

The Peoria Chiefs had to overcome a good performance from Kane County pitcher Jim Collins to claim a 3-2 win at Philip B. Elfstrom Stadium. Collins went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belonged to Joe Sevedra in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Mike Wright took the loss for Kane County.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Rob Mullins? The 26-year old right fielder Mullins stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 15th inning to put Peoria up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 6, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Mullins.

The victory gives the Chiefs a record of 34-28.
