The Clinton LumberKings powered past the Quad Cities River Bandits, 8-5, at Alliant Energy Field. Jerry Richards provided some of the pop. He was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Julián Alou earned save number 14 this season. With the win, Clinton raised its record to 32-23.

With Clinton trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the third, Richards hit a fastball from Ron Green for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the LumberKings ahead, 5-3.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Richards told the Clinton Today.
