Though he had a stellar game, Rocky Chandler could not prevent his team, the Peoria Chiefs, from losing, 7-4, to the Kane County Cougars. Chandler went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Jerry Rhodes earned the save for Kane County, his 14th of the year. The Cougars raised their record to 26-28.
Coy Keller aided the Kane County cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
Keller told the Kane County Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
