The Great Lakes Loons beat the South Bend Cubs, 12-4, at Dow Diamond. Jerry Peters, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Great Lakes now sits at 25-28, while South Bend falls to 27-26.

Jorge Rivera drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances for Great Lakes. The 21-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off António Salazar. It was his 12th walk of the season.
