The first-place West Michigan Whitecaps picked up another win.

The West Michigan Whitecaps downed the Great Lakes Loons, 12-6, at Fifth Third Ballpark. The Whitecaps were led by Tim Scott. Scott went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The Whitecaps have an impressive 35-15 record.

Chris Jacobs, who is tied for 10th in the MID in RBI with 29, chipped in a 3-run home run for West Michigan in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI.

In comments to the West Michigan Citizen, Scott admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
