The Fort Wayne TinCaps withstood a fine game by Lansing first baseman Tae-gyoon Hong at Parkview Field, to upend the Lugnuts, 8-7. Hong went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Fort Wayne reliever Tim Roberts was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Vic Banks took the loss. The Fort Wayne winning streak has reached 3 games.

Jerry Horne took Lansing hurler Vic Banks deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the TinCaps on top, 8-7. In all, Horne had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
