The Peoria Chiefs and Beloit Snappers provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Beloit Snappers trumped the Peoria Chiefs, 4-3, at Dozer Park. Beloit third baseman Jon Mobley was terrific. He was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Earning his 9th save for Beloit was Daniel Negrón.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Elroy Cleveland? The Beloit right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Snappers on top, 4-2. For the game, Cleveland had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Peoria manager Phil Nevin, after yet another defeat, said: "We need to recalibrate."
Peoria, at 16-24, has lost 10 straight.
