Lugnuts Beat South Bend, 7-6
South Bend got a decent performance from pitcher Edwin Braun, but it wasn't enough to beat the Lansing Lugnuts. Lansing won the Cooley Law School Stadium contest, 7-6. Braun threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Jim Barber, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save. With the win, Lansing has a record of 19-21. South Bend falls to 19-21.

Tynan Cotto, who leads the MID in hits with 60, helped out the Lansing cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman was 1-2 with a walk.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Cotto after the game.
