Fort Wayne beat Great Lakes in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Fort Wayne TinCaps topped the Great Lakes Loons, 6-4, in Midwest League action at Parkview Field. The standout performance belonged to Fort Wayne pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native José Aloniz. The winner was Aloniz. He threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Josh Ford.

Fort Wayne third baseman Ian Green contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a slider to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 33rd hit of the season and put the TinCaps ahead, 3-0.

"José gave us everything he had," said Fort Wayne manager Yunir Garcia.

The last-place TinCaps own a record of 9-30.
