Captains Absorb 3-2 Home Loss
The Lake County Captains and Lansing Lugnuts provided some drama for the home crowd.

Lansing picked up a win at Classic Park, bumping off the Lake County Captains, 3-2. Pitcher Ignacio Benítez was a major reason the Lugnuts emerged victorious. Eugene Howe was called on to finish, recording his 9th save.

Kevin Lewis had a direct impact on the outcome. Lewis contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Lansing up, 3-2.

Lake County manager Chris Dwyer said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

Lansing is now 18-19, while Lake County is 22-15.
