Hot Rods Roll Over River Bandits, 9-3
The Bowling Green Hot Rods defeated the Quad Cities River Bandits, 9-3. Second Baseman Duane Hall deserved a large share of the credit. Hall went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hot Rods. Bowling Green is now 18-18, while Quad Cities is 16-20.

The River Bandits had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Hot Rods going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman José Lugo came to the plate. Lugo hit a 2-run triple on a 0-1 changeup from Quad Cities hurler Kees Wellenberg. It was Lugo's 1st triple of the year.

"Solid performance from our side," said Hot Rods manager James Hoyt.
