Kane County first baseman Dan Albertson contributed significantly to his team's 11-7 win over the Dayton Dragons. Albertson, who is tied for 7th in the MID in doubles with 12, went 4 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cougars. Conan Thomas, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 1-0. Tim Hewitt earned save number 1.

Conan Thomas had a big 2-run double for the Cougars in the bottom of the first inning. With Kane County leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Bao-tian Liu and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cougars ahead, 4-0.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager said.
