The South Bend Cubs and Beloit Snappers put on a pitchers' duel.
The South Bend Cubs earned a close win over the Beloit Snappers, thanks in part to Edwin Braun. The South Bend right-hander, who leads the MID with a 10.5 K/9 rate, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The victory gives South Bend a record of 18-17.
Braun overpowered the Snappers. The South Bend right-hander allowed 6 hits over 8 innings, while recording 13 punchouts. With the win, he is 3-3 on the season.
