Whitecaps third baseman Dan Babb put his stamp on his team's 6-4 win over the Kane County Cougars. Babb was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs for West Michigan in the contest. Reliever Dave Miller picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Dan Whaley took the loss. Picking up the save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Chris Whittemore.

There was more than one reason the Whitecaps beat the Cougars, but Babb's big at-bat in the top of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"What we get, we earn," Babb told the West Michigan Citizen.
