Quad Cities left-hander José Ruíz helped his team edge Bowling Green by the score of 3-2. Ruíz kept the opposing lineup in check. Joe Williams claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 2-2. The setback makes Bowling Green 17-18.
Quad Cities used a timely hit from Kevin Hickman to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Bandits ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"José kept his poise and got the job done," said Quad Cities manager Takanobu Sato. "He was outstanding."
