There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.

Steve Collins of the Lansing Lugnuts had one such moment at Philip B. Elfstrom Stadium, when he went 5 for 5 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Lansing succumbed to defeat, 14-5, to the Kane County Cougars.

"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 25-year-old center fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."

Steve Collins doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In his 2025 season totals, Collins has 2 home runs, .350 BA, .417 OBP, 25 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
