The Lansing Lugnuts powered past the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 9-2, at Cooley Law School Stadium. Tynan Cotto went 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Ken Jenkins was the winner. He's now 4-1. The loser was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Pat Slusher. The defeat makes Wisconsin 8-22.

Early in the game, Cotto had a 2-run home run for Lansing. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Lugnuts on top, 2-0.

"We took a roundhouse punch to the chin," said losing manager Matt Walbeck.
