Whitecaps Deal Wisconsin 6-2 Defeat
West Michigan pitcher Juan López did his part in helping his team defeat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. López yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. West Michigan is off to a hot start at 18-8.

The Whitecaps got a big at-bat from catcher Juan Álvarez. For the game, Álvarez went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave West Michigan a 3-1 lead.
