Lugnuts Stumble, Fall to River Bandits, 8-5
|
José Ruíz propelled his team to victory over the Lansing Lugnuts. The final score was 8-5, Quad Cities. The winning pitcher was Ruíz, now 1-0. He tossed 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Lansing now has a record of 11-14.
Charlie Jones had a big 3-run home run for the River Bandits in the bottom of the second inning. With Quad Cities trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a screwball from Bob Davis, who is tied for 6th in the MID in strikeouts with 36, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the River Bandits on top, 3-1.
"It feels good to get this one," Jones told the Quad Cities Today.
