Tight Tilt Goes to Kernels, 1-0
|
It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Kernels fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
Cedar Rapids used a superb performance from starting pitcher Chris Peterson to down the Lake County Captains, 1-0. Juan Aguilar sewed up the save, his 1st.
Cedar Rapids used the hitting of Eddie Woods to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Kernels on top, 1-0. For the game, Woods had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Chris's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Bobby Chouinard, the Kernels manager.
The win puts Cedar Rapids at 15-10.
