The Dayton Dragons did just enough to sneak past the Lansing Lugnuts, 6-5, at Fifth Third Field. Dayton pitcher R.J. White, in particular, had a standout performance. Luis Oliva picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Kevin Carlton suffered the loss. Juan Sánchez earned the save for Dayton, his 7th of the year.

Greg Campbell drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Dayton. The 25-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Dave Salazar. It was his 2nd walk of the season.

In postgame comments, White told the Dayton Daily News: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"

The Lugnuts, 11-13, continue their sluggish start to the 2025 campaign.
