Dragons Suffer 9-4 Home Defeat
Hank Howell had a good game, but he could not keep the Dayton Dragons from falling, 9-4, to the Lansing Lugnuts at Fifth Third Field. The Dayton shortstop went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times in the loss. The winning pitcher was Ken Jenkins. His record now stands at 3-0. The left-hander went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits for the Lugnuts. The Dragons fall to 9-13 and continue their lackluster start to the 2025 season.

Lansing used a well-timed hit by Jody Johns to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Lugnuts ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Johns.
