					| The Quad Cities River Bandits locked up a win at Modern Woodmen Park, knocking off the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 7-2. On the mound for Quad Cities was right-hander Ángelo Martínez. He played a major role in the triumph. Martínez, now 1-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Bailey Roughley  nailed down the save. 
 Eric Newton drew 3 walks for Quad Cities. The 24-year old center fielder  had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring  walk off Billy Lehman. It was his 5th walk of the season.
 
 "We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Newton.
 
 The loss drops Cedar Rapids to 10-7.
