Hot Rods Fall to Dragons, 3-2
|
The Bowling Green Hot Rods could not turn a fine performance from right fielder Chris Hill into a win. Instead, the Dayton Dragons prevailed, 3-2. Hill went 2 for 3 with a home run. José Morán earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 3.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Juan Sánchez earned the save for Dayton.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Dragons had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when center fielder Nate Simms hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jake Canavan and made the score 3-1, Dragons. Simms went 1 for 4.
Dayton manager Manny Amador praised his team's "energy."
The Hot Rods fall to 6-11 and continue their uneven start to the 2026 season.
