The Lansing Lugnuts wiggled past the Great Lakes Loons, 3-2, in 10 innings at Dow Diamond. The win was highlighted by the performance of Lansing pitcher Kevin Carlton. Great Lakes drops to 4-8.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jody Johns? The 24-year old second baseman Johns stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Lansing up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 6, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Kevin's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Lansing manager Edgar Varela.
