Led by Luis Pérez, the Fort Wayne TinCaps downed the Lansing Lugnuts, 8-1. Pérez was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the TinCaps. Joe Owens was the winner. He's now 2-1. The loser was Ed Buschlen. Lansing drops to 4-7.

With Fort Wayne leading 1-0 in the top of the sixth, Pérez hit a fastball from Ed Buschlen for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the TinCaps ahead, 3-0.

"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Pérez told a local reporter after the game.
