Hot Rods Trip Whitecaps, 6-2, in Extra Innings
West Michigan got a big-time effort from pitcher Sam McClure, but it wasn't enough to keep the Bowling Green Hot Rods from winning the game, 6-2. McClure threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Bowling Green reliever Felipe Melle was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Edwin Brown. With the loss, West Michigan drops to 6-5.

It could have been a different outcome for Bowling Green, had it not been for Torazo Ramírez, the 23-year old shortstop . Ramírez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Bowling Green up, 3-2.

Ramírez told a Bowling Green Daily News reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win.
