Captains Roll to 9-1 Win Over TinCaps
The Lake County Captains beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 9-1, at Parkview Field. Starting pitcher Scotty Stevens was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Stevens, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Fort Wayne is 3-3 after the defeat.

The Captains got a big hit from catcher Eric Wisser. Facing Fort Wayne pitcher Joe Mayes in the top of the fifth, Wisser pounded a 3-run home run to center. His 1st home run of the season put the Captains ahead, 9-0.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Stevens. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
