Pat Slusher, who is rated as the 43rd best prospect by BNN, was terrific for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Clinton LumberKings. His performance earned Slusher rave reviews. The winning pitcher was Slusher, now 1-0. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. José Ferreira earned save number 2 this season.

Wisconsin won the game in part because of Ernie Brewster. The shortstop ripped a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Timber Rattlers ahead, 2-0. For the game, Brewster had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"I like what I saw today," said Wisconsin manager Matt Walbeck, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

The loss drops Clinton to 2-2.
