Led by Eric Hiter, the Brevard County Manatees defeated the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 7-6. Hiter, a native of Mesa, Arizona, went 3-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Manatees. Brevard County reliever José Martínez picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Jeremy Fox was tagged with the loss. The Manatees now have a record of 63-75 with the win over Charlotte.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Alfredo Fernández came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Charlotte pitcher Josh Cox, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Brevard County on top, 7-6.

"We took home the win," said Hiter. "What's not to like?"
