The Lakeland Flying Tigers, despite a fine performance by Dunedin pitcher Jon Downing, grabbed a 3-2 win at Joker Marchant Stadium. Downing allowed no runs over 7.1 innings. José Cervantes earned the save, his 36th in 43 tries. This win makes it 7 in a row for Lakeland.

Jeremy Brown took Dunedin hurler Gildas Lucas deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Flying Tigers on top, 3-2. In all, Brown had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We're rolling right now," said Brown. "We're playing good baseball."
