Ortíz Stars in 9-3 Win for Bowie
The Bowie Baysox beat the Reading Fightin Phils, 9-3, at FirstEnergy Stadium. The win was due in part to designated hitter Nelson Ortíz, who went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The win has Bowie at 7-8.

Bowie used the clutch hitting of Wally Clark to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Baysox the lead, 2-1. For the game, Clark had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

Ortíz told a Bowie Citizen reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
