The St. Lucie Mets defeated the Tampa Yankees, 4-1, in Florida State League action at George M. Steinbrenner Field. St. Lucie pitcher Ed Harvey had a standout performance. St. Lucie raised its record to 67-47 with the win.

St. Lucie used the hitting of Nelson López to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mets on top, 4-1. For the game, López had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Ed just settled in and did what he does," said St. Lucie manager Jorge Hernandez.
