Flying Tigers Take Tight Tilt, 3-2
|
The Lakeland Flying Tigers earned a win at Joker Marchant Stadium, stopping the Brevard County Manatees, 3-2. Starting pitcher Sean Bevins played a big role in his team's success. Bevins got the win, improving to 13-2. He gave up 9 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. José Cervantes earned his 30th save in 37 chances.
Had Joe Sheehan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Sheehan hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Flying Tigers.
Sheehan attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
