The home crowd had a good time watching the Brevard County Manatees and Clearwater Threshers get after it.

The Clearwater Threshers topped the Brevard County Manatees, 10-7, in Florida State League action at Bright House Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Clearwater designated hitter Walt Blair. Clearwater reliever Ken Ross was the winner. His record is now 3-9. Randy Smith took the loss. Daniel Brunt got the save, his 21st in 22 chances.

With Clearwater leading 6-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Blair came up to bat against Brevard County pitcher Merlin Hatch. Blair hit a slider to right for a grand slam home run. His 19th home run of the season put the Threshers on top, 10-1.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Hector Santiago.

Clearwater is now 48-58.
