Castro goes 3-for-4 to Fuel Threshers Offense
Threshers catcher Juan Castro left his imprint on his team's 10-6 win over the Brevard County Manatees. Castro was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Clearwater in the contest. The win went to Steve Black in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Merlin Hatch took the loss. The 4th-place Threshers have won 7 in a row.

The Manatees had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Threshers going into the top of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old first baseman Walt Blair came to the plate. Blair hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 slider from Brevard County hurler Merlin Hatch. It was Blair's 21st double of the year.

"We came out aggressive," said Threshers manager Hector Santiago. "We came out swinging the bats."
