The Lakeland Flying Tigers picked up a win at Joker Marchant Stadium, taking down the Jupiter Hammerheads, 1-0. Starting pitcher Shawn Major was a big reason why. Lakeland raised its record to 70-31 with the win.

Major, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, was dealing all game. He kept Jupiter hitters off-balance, while giving the Flying Tigers 8.2 quality innings. Major threw 101 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 5.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Major. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
