The Lakeland Flying Tigers defeated the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 4-2, in Florida State League action at Joker Marchant Stadium. Lakeland pitcher Juan Ortega had a standout performance. Lakeland reliever Juan Ortega was credited with the win. His record goes to 4-1. Tomokatsu O'Brien took the loss for Charlotte. The Flying Tigers own a robust 62-30 mark.

Chip Wurzburg had a big 2-run double for the Flying Tigers in the bottom of the second inning. With Lakeland leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a cutter from Tomokatsu O'Brien and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flying Tigers ahead, 3-0.

Afterward, Charlotte manager Brad Salmon said: "We've hit a rough patch."
