Clearwater Threshers starter Jorge Marrón pitched effectively against the Daytona Tortugas at Bright House Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-2 win. The setback makes Daytona 49-41.

Clearwater left fielder Tony Pérez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 43rd hit of the season and put the Threshers ahead, 3-0.
