Pitcher Steve Ives was rock solid in helping the Clearwater Threshers beat the Daytona Tortugas, 2-1. Clearwater reliever José Ortíz was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Steve Adams. Clearwater now sits at 47-42, while Daytona falls to 39-50.
