Welch Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Bradenton
The Bradenton Marauders had to overcome a big game from Daytona first baseman Jon Welch to leave Jackie Robinson Ballpark with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. Welch was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Steve Russell recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 16 for 19. The win for the Marauders raised their record to 46-39.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Von Wheeler? The Bradenton third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Marauders on top, 5-2. For the game, Wheeler had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
