With Tim Tillman leading the charge, the Brevard County Manatees defeated the Bradenton Marauders, 6-4. Tillman went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Manatees. Dan McCurley, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. With the win over Bradenton, the Manatees improved to 29-39.

Brevard County used the timely hitting of Eric Hiter to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Manatees on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"That's what these guys do," said Manatees manager Allen Craig. "They battle, they fight."
