The Daytona Tortugas got a sterling performance from pitcher Chad Johnson, but the Bradenton Marauders still prevailed, 5-3. Johnson threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Daytona is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.

Rubén Águila had a big 2-run home run for the Marauders in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Bradenton leading 3-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Steve Adams and swatted a home run to right. It was his 6th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marauders ahead, 5-0.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Águila. "You've got to get results."
