The Tampa Yankees defeated the Daytona Tortugas, 5-4, in Florida State League action at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Tampa pitcher Pat Todd had a standout performance. Tim Lewis nailed down his 12th save. The third-place Yankees have won 5 in a row.

Tampa took a 5-4 lead on Steve Baker's 18th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Baker hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Daytona pitcher Artie Zimmerman visibly frustrated.

"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Baker.
