The Tampa Yankees defeated the Brevard County Manatees, 6-1, in Florida State League action at Space Coast Stadium. Tampa pitcher Clarence Amdrade had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Amdrade, now 2-5. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 3. The save was Stu Morse's, his 1st.

Tampa used a clutch at-bat from Willie Middleton to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Yankees ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Yankees manager Eric Owens. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

So far in 2025, Tampa is 23-33.
