Thrilling Victory Pushes Mets Win Streak to 6

Kevin Anderson, despite pitching well, was dismayed with the outcome: a hard-fought, 2-0 Charlotte Stone Crabs defeat at the hands of the St. Lucie Mets at Tradition Field. José Guillén earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Kel Turner recorded the save, his 18th.
St. Lucie took a 2-0 lead on Kevin Burke's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Burke hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Charlotte pitcher Kevin Anderson visibly frustrated.
Burke attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
St. Lucie is now 30-24. Charlotte is 25-29.
