St. Lucie third baseman Reggie Turner was a significant contributor in his team's 8-6 triumph over the Bradenton Marauders. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Mets. The Mets have now won 5 straight.

The Marauders had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Mets going into the bottom of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old shortstop Dave Armitstead came to the plate. Armitstead hit a run-scoring double on a 2-1 changeup from Bradenton hurler José Alou. It was Armitstead's 1st double of the year.
