The Clearwater Threshers, behind a great outing from José López, who is tied for 7th in the FSL in complete games with 1, defeated the Brevard County Manatees, 3-1, at Bright House Field. López picked up the win for Clearwater, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Daniel Brunt earned the save for Clearwater, his 2nd.

In the bottom of the 3rd, Clearwater took the lead on a 2-run single by Walt Blair. At the time, the Threshers were trailing 1-0, but Blair's hit with two outs against Brevard County pitcher Ron McKinney put them in front, 2-1.

"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Blair.

Brevard County has now lost 4 straight.
