The St. Lucie Mets got a marvelous performance from pitcher Rudy Alexander. The right-hander kept the Bradenton offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 6-0 St. Lucie victory at Calvin Falwell Field. Now 26-17, the Mets have won 11 games in a row.

Alexander kept the Marauders under his thumb. He scattered 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 10. The right-hander upped his season record to 6-0.

"Things didn't bounce our way," said Bradenton skipper Miguel Montero.
