Daytona left fielder Shawn Alomar helped his team beat the St. Lucie Mets, 7-5. Alomar, who is tied for 8th in the FSL in home runs with 4, went 2 for 3 for the Tortugas. With the win, the Tortugas sit at 22-18.
Wes Carter, who is tied for 3rd in the FSL in stolen bases with 5, helped out the Daytona cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4 with a walk.
"I like our moxie," said Tortugas manager Tracy McGrady.
